What Fourwinds came to me with
The Team approached me to assist with the editing of his commissioned project: Fourwinds. I joined the project as a third-party editing assistant, contributing to the post-production process and supporting the main editor throughout the editing workflow.
What I came up with.
I successfully worked through several rounds of revisions with, while dedicating significant time to refining the story logic and scripting. My work focused on ensuring that the narrative structure remained coherent and that the individual elements came together effectively in the final cut.
The Challenge
One of the main challenges was managing an enormous amount of footage, sorting through countless gigabytes of material and synchronizing multicam clips. From there, I had to structure the material into a coherent sequence while finding an aesthetic connection between the individual shots and scenes. The goal was to create a cut that was not only logically sound, but also visually and rhythmically cohesive.
Technical implementation
We worked as a team, one as the director and me acting as the direct editing counterpart responsible for implementing his creative direction. Working primarily in DaVinci Resolve and its various tools, I translated his ideas and feedback into concrete edits, helping shape the project throughout the post-production process.
